Unleashing Chaos Beneath the Waves

The unhindered release of plastics and microplastics by industrial entities has led to a catastrophic surge in underwater pollution. These materials, intended for convenience production have become agents of disruption of natural functions. As they accumulate in vast quantities, they contaminate waters that serve as the habitat for a variety of organisms. Amidst the sea of pollution, it is not only the underwater fauna that bears the brunt. Humanity, too, finds itself entangled in this ecological crisis. Plastics and microplastics infiltrate our functioning at various levels, posing threats to our health. As we consume the products of contaminated marine life, these insidious particles infiltrate our bodies, causing disturbances in vital functions. The disruption is not limited to human beings; it reverberates through the underwater realm, where the essential functions of marine organisms are altered. This project delves into the alarming consequences of uncontrolled pollution, where the underwater fauna faces profound disruptions to their essential functions. With this project, the artist wanted to deal with this issue and the startling revelation that emerges—a glimpse into a future where the underwater world evolves into an entirely new and transformed species. Over time, the underwater fauna, subjected to relentless disruption and genetic alterations, may undergo a metamorphosis, cross-species we have no precise idea of.

The work presents imaginary aquatic organisms, consisting of organic particles and plastics. Works originally were created by the artist as paper collages. However, in response to the devastating impact that Ai has upon the realm of creativity and the visual world artist wanted to transform those paper collages into hyperrealistic Ai images, to raise the question of where are the limits of human so-called development, both in terms of plastic production and crossing boundaries of reshaping reality according to algorithms.
